Determinants of Hospital productivity for general hospitals in Korea

Abstract
This study relates to the problems of hospital productivity for general hospital in Korea. In order to identify the factors influencing hospital productivity, the interviewer surveyed 168 hospitals that were selected from list for guiding was recorded by Korean
Hospital Association. Data were collected from January 10 to February 28, 1989. The results are as follows.
1. Hospital size variables was the most correlation to other variables.
2. Using factor analysis, 24 variables were parsimoniously grouped into four factors
Hospital size, Hospital output, Hospital level and patient preference, Hospital Performance process.
3. Four factors were each involved following variables.
1) Hospital size : seven variables
2) Hospital output ; three variables
3) Hospital medical care level : three variables
4) Hospital performance process : one variables
